Vincent York, saxophonist and former Duke Ellington Orchestra member, is the leader of new York Force. The new York Force, proudly a mainstream, contemporary, traditional Ann Arbor/Detroit based jazz group, has received very favorable reviews throughout the U.S. and abroad. York's Force still includes original members and often features the incomparable Marcus Belgrave on trumpet. This outstanding ensemble also offers workshops which include summarizing the history of jazz by demonstrating the instruments they play to characterize some of the most popular jazz periods.
